Abstract
893,395. Two-part couplings. BRITISH GENERAL MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Sept. 15, 1960 [May 31, 1960], No. 19180/60. Class 38 (1). In a plug coupling having a body with a base and a detachable cover, at least one of the plug pins has a washer fixed at or near its inner end extending laterally therefrom in a plane normal to the pin axis and fitting into a recess in the base and/or the cover which prevents withdrawal of the pin from the underside of the base and prevents rotation of the pin relatively to the plug body. As shown, the square washer 3 is sprung or swaged into an annular groove 2 of the circular pin, being provided, when sprung, with a series of radial nicks or slots to permit slight deformation of the inner circular periphery of the washer when it is pushed over the end of the pin (Fig. 2, not shown). In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the washer is fixed by a rivet portion on the end of the pin. Specification 812,399 is referred to.
