Abstract

1534278 Electric plug pin J A CRABTREE & CO Ltd 24 March 1976 [11 Feb 1975] 5685/75 Heading H2E An electric pin, comprises a shank 34 (Fig. 2) and a head 36, manufactured in two parts and connected together, and an insulating sleeve 44. The head 36 is connected to the shank 34 by a threaded spigot 35 on the shank and a threaded aperture 37 on the head and the sleeve is prevented from moving relative to the shank by resilient flaps 52 engaging a recess 58 on the body 54 of the plug containing the pin. Alternatively the sleeve may be provided with resilient outwardly extending projections which frictionally engage the walls of aperture 56. The head 36 (Fig. 3) is prevented from rotating in the body of the plug by an aperture 60, corresponding to the shape of the head. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown) the flaps are omitted and a dished washer (110) positioned on the spigot (105) is resiliently deformed by engaging straight segments (112) of aperture (126) when the pin is inserted in the aperture. In another embodiment (Fig. 4) the head 76 engages an integral tongue 75 on the shank 74 and is secured to the shank by a screw 103 which also secures the plug wiring to the pin.
