Abstract

1,200,076. Two-part couplings. PYLENATIONAL CO. 14 Aug., 1967 [3 March, 1967], No. 37295/67. Heading H2E. A contact-retaining spring collet 26 comprises a rear sleeve 28 and forwardly-projecting fingers, e.g. 32, each finger having an axiallyextending rear post 38, an inwardly-inclined part 39 and an end portion 40 with a shoulder 49 which snap-fits behind a complementary shoulder on a contact 21 inserted from the rear of the collet. Forward movement of the contact 21 is prevented by engagement of its lead wire (not shown) with rear face 12 of connector body 10. Annular flanges 55, 30 on the collet engage a ridge in the body 10, the rearward flange being formed on the sleeve 28 (as shown) or, alternatively (Fig. 9, not shown) on the axially-extending parts (138) of the collet fingers.
