Abstract

1,030,976. Two-part couplings. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. April 22, 1965 [April 23, 1964], No. 16924/65. Heading H2E. An electrical connector comprises two members 10 and 11 each having a round cross-section and each being made of resilient insulating material; one of the members 10, having a recessed end 13 surrounded by a flange 15 having equally spaced incisions 16, and a movable sleeve 19. The other member 11 has a recess 24 beneath the projecting end, and when the two members are brought together the flange 15 fits into the recess 24 and is retained there by longitudinal movement of the sleeve. The end face of member 11 may be internally arcuate as shown by dotted line 31. Member 10 carries sleeve type socket contacts and member 11 corresponding pin contacts. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the head section 22 has a sealing ring attached to it, and the sleeve 19 may be screwed downwardly until its end abuts against the shoulder 29. This tends to push the two members apart and a good seal is produced with the sealing ring.
