Abstract
949,043. Cable terminals. BOWTHORPE ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 30, 1961 [Jan. 11, 1960], No. 982/60. Heading H2E. A connector member 2, in for example, a line spacer as described in Specification 892,423, is connected to a cable 4, by compressing a sleeve portion 1, formed on its outer surface with at least one groove 3 (Fig. 1), until the grooves are at least partially closed (Fig. 2) and the inside surface of the sleeve makes good contact with the cable. The compression may be effected between opposing die faces having configurations similar to that of the sleeve portion, the required degree of compression being determined by the complete closure of the dies or by automatic pressuresensitive means. The sleeve may be other than generally cylindrical.
