Abstract

The general purpose electronic and electrical connector allowing rapid release of the two mating halves. The overall connector geometry is that of a cylinder carrying male (14') and female (15') electrodes held in short insulating blocks (16). One block acts as the male part and slides into the sprung fixed sleeve (13) of the female section. The mating end of the sleeve has an inward pointing lip (17) which engages with an annular slot (18) in the male insulator. The sleeve is trapped in position once engaged by an outer sliding sleeve (19) moving over the lip/annulus region.
