Abstract

1,222,692. Fin and tube radiators. P. KASERMAN. 15 May, 1968 [17 May, 1967], No. 23003/68. Heading F4S. In a heat-exchanger unit of the type used in radiators or air coolers and comprising a plurality of cross-fins 2 attached to spaced parallel fluid carrying tubes 1 of narrow elongated cross-section, a series of bars 1a are provided to stabilize or brace the longitudinal side faces 3, 4 of the unit, the bars 1a being soldered and received in recesses in the cross-fin edges. Advantageously the unit is cut to the required size from a block of multiple unit width, the separating cut being made through the middle of a vertical row of tubes 1 such that each halftube portion constitutes a bracing bar 1a.
