Abstract

1,222,209. Valves. HARPER-WYMAN Ltd. 6 Aug., 1968 [5 Dec., 1967], No. 55185/67. Heading F2V. A gas cock comprises a valve member 12 rotatable in a cylindrical body 10 with an eccentric outlet port 11 in one end, the member 12 having an eccentric seal 14 which in the position shown closes the port and in another position opens communication between the port 11 and an inlet port 16. The member 12 is biased by a spring 13. A connecting port is formed in the member 12 at 90 degrees to the seal 14. An operating member 21 carries a drive-pin 25 and receives a niting pin 30 carried by a spring clip 32. In open position a notch (35), Fig. 1 (not shown), in the end of a niting pin recess, allows the operating member 21 to lift and lock in open position. There may be several seals and several outlets openable successively to provide intermediate and low positions as well as ON and OFF. In another embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), with a transverse outlet connection to the eccentric port and aligned inlet, an 0-ring seal is fixed to member 12 by a screw and the connecting port in the valve member is omitted.
