Abstract

1,217,154. Cartons. ASHTON CONTAINERS Ltd. 20 June, 1968 [7 April, 1967], No. 15972/67. Haeding B8P. A carton for tetrahedral packages includes at least two sections of regular hexagonal crosssection which are displaced relatively to one another by substantially 30 degrees. In an embodiment, the carton, Fig. 3b, is erected from a blank, Fig. 2 (not shown), and the two sections are connected by triangular panels 41. The base may be conical or formed by the abutment at 73 of the edges of panels 53 which have flaps (54) hinged to each other at (55). A hexagonal pyramidal lid, Fig. 3a (not shown), is erected from a blank, Fig. 1 (not shown), and has peripheral flaps (17) which are upturned to engage the walls 42 of the container when in use. The packaging of three layers of six tetrahedral packages is described and illustrated, Figs. 4 to 7 (not shown), and is such that seams of the packages abut either the lower edge of a panel 40 or crease 31, thereby avoiding damage to the walls of the container by the ends of the seams
