Abstract

1,215,156. Regulating. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO. Ltd. May.9, 1968 [June30, 1967], No.30231/67. Heading F1B. A pneumatically operated throttle valve control system comprises an engine-driven compressor 11 connected through a branch 12b and manual control valve 17 to the throttle operating cylinder 19 and through a branch 12a and a valve 16 which only opens above a predetermined pressure to a reservoir 15. At starting the compressed air is diverted solely through branch 12b, to give immediate throttle control, until the full operating pressure to which valve 16 is set is reached, where air is also fed to reservoir 15. In a modification a pressure unloader valve in the compressor is controlled by a governor responsive to reservoir pressure and the pipe 12a includes a non-return valve, the pressure from the reservoir 15 reaching pipe 12b through a separate pipe opening into a double non-return valve at the junction with pipe 12b.
