Abstract

1,211,487. Lamp holders. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. 17 April, 1968 [1 June, 1967], No. 20742/69. Divided out of 1,209,463. Heading H2E. A lamp holder comprises a metal body 1 provided with bayonet slots 2, mounted on an insulating base formed by integral portions 3, 4, and is provided with means for being mounted in an apertured support (not shown). Conductive contacts are assembled with the base and these include resilient portions extending into the body 1, and terminals 8b extending out of the base. The mounting means for the lamp holder comprises a metal plate 14 attached to the insulating base and having two resilient arms 15, each formed with shoulders 18. The resilient arms may be formed with different transverse widths to engage in slots of corresponding widths in the mounting aperture to ensure correct polarity. As shown, the arms 15 are provided with further shoulders 20 adjacent 18, the apertured support engaging therebetween. The metal plate 14 is secured to the lamp holder by means of lugs (6a, not shown), which extend from the body 1 of the lamp holder. Specification 1,209,463 is referred to.
