Abstract

1,209,709. Wrapping device for block ended parcels. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIEGESELLSCHAFT. 26 Aug., 1968 [25 Aug., 1967], No. 40668/68. Heading B8C. In apparatus for wrapping a group of objects to form a block ended parcel, the side flaps at the back and the lower back flap are formed at a first station and the parcel is then pushed forward to a second station where the top back flap is formed; all the completely wrapped parcels being moved forward by this movement. The figure shows completely wrapped parcels 1, and two unfinished parcels 1a. The side rear flaps are folded in by reciprocating members 2 at a first station A and the lower back flap is formed by raising a folder 3. The parcel is then pushed to the right by folder 3 moving the completed parcels 1, along and the top rear flap is closed by vertically reciprocating folder 4. Folder 3 is then lowered and returns along the path shown in dashed lines to its original position. The folder 3 moves through appropriately placed slots in the base of a folding channel and a mechanism for executing the required motion is described.
