Abstract

1,199,372. Erecting buildings. G. F. HUBER. 24 April, 1968 '[25 April, 1967], No. l9407/68. Heading E1S. A building is constructed using a lift-slab technique wherein the slabs are prefabricated and stacked within the previously erected framework of the building, and each slab in turn is lifted off the stack by lifting means attached via a support member which engages with, or is fixed to, an anchoring member cast into an aperture in the slab, whereafter flying scaffolding is attached to the lifting means by a suspension rod or sling so that workmen can work under, as well as on the slab, to fix it in its final position in the framework. A hollow lifting rod 6 may be employed, attached to an anchoring sleeve I via a two-part, internally and externally threaded bush 4, 4', a suspension rod 7 being screwed into the bottom of the rod 6. Alternatively, as shown, (he support member consists of a plate framework 11, 11', 15, 15' with a pin 10 running between walls 11, 11' and supporting arms 9, 9' which engage in embedded channel members 17, 17'. The scaffolding is supported by slings 14, 14'.
