Abstract

982,503. Method of erecting multi-storey buildings. P. PLUCKEBAUM. May 13, 1963 [May 11, 1962], No. 18903/63. Heading E1A. A method of erecting a reinforced concrete frame for a multi-storey building consists of the steps of first making the basement and then constructing the storey's and associated columns one at a time in formwork erected in the basement, the completed storey or storeys being lifted clear of the framework to permit casting of the adjacent storey. The columns 3, floor slabs 23 and their beams 24 are cast in formwork 21, 22, 22<SP>1</SP> and 25 supported by posts 26 and girders 17. Three or more girders 17 are employed which are secured to foundation blocks 4 by bearer slabs 16 and are interconnected by bearer plates 18 beveled at 19 to receive the form positioning wedges 20. The lifting jacks 8 are in the form of a screwthreaded spindle which is advanced by nuts 9, 10 carried by bearing bushes 11, 12 respectively. The nuts are driven through hydraulically driven and controlled drive wheels, see Fig. 5 (not shown).
