Propelling by reaction of explosives. - An explosive charge forced or drawn into the chamber c is ignited by the sparking-plug e and the combustion products pass aft through the tube a to propel the vessel. A fresh supply of water enters through the flap valve b which closes when the explosions occur. Fig. 2 shows an alternative arrangement in which the parts described above are duplicated and an additional valve g is fitted.
