Abstract

118,658. Whitehead, J. S., and Constantine, F.W. Aug. 28, 1917. Valves actuated indirectly. - A valve fitting, particularly adapted for use in connexion with the valves controlling the supply of petrol to internalcombustion engines, is adapted to close the inlet pipe when the main valve is removed. The fit-- ting comprises a member c having male and female threaded parts c<1>, c<2> for coupling to the main valve b and the tank a, and provided internally with a seat c<3> for a loose valve d<1>. The valve d<1>, which is loaded by a spring adjusted by a perforated bush g, has a tubular perforated stem d<4> adapted to be engaged by the main valve casing to hold the valve d' from its seat.
