A prizing tool for coupling and uncoupling the return spring of internal shoe drum brakes comprises a lever 1 having one end 6 shaped to make rocking engagement with a brake shoe and a link 2 connected to the lever for pivotal movement about an axis transverse to the lever and having a hook 3 for engagement with the return spring. The lever is formed from a tube, such as of aluminium, which is flattened at one end 6 to form a fulcrum surface 7. The link 2 is connected to the tube by means of clip 8.
