C h n r g e , cooling and meistening. - The combustible mixture from a vaporizer is cooled by passing through a long pipe which may be coiled or water-jacketed, after which it is diluted with artificially humified air. The humidifier consists of a tank 38 containing water, into which dip sheets of felt or other absorbent 41, the flow of air between the sheets and over the water being conteolled by a sliding valve 40.
