Abstract

1,181,254. Retractable aircraft undercarriages. MESSIER. 8 May, 1967 [3 June, 1966], No. 21272/67. Heading B7G. An aircraft undercarriage comprises a main -eg 4 attached to the aircraft by a strut 7 and a lever 11 as shown, the undercarriage being retracted by a ram 13. The ram 13 may be pivoted to the aircraft at 14 so that on being extended the undercarriage is raised and a body C slung under the fuselage is cleared. The wheel 2 may be carried on a lever 3 attached via a link 5 to a shock-absorber 6 in the leg 4. The undercarriage may be held in the extended and retracted positions by locks 19 and 17, respectively.
