Abstract
1423895 Aircraft undercarriages MESSIER-HISPANO 23 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 24579/73 Heading B7G An aircraft undercarriage, in the embodiment formed by two units in tandem each retractable laterally into a fuselage about an axis X-X parallel to the aircraft longitudinal axis, comprises for each unit a main leg member 5 having a wheel-carrying arm 3 supported by a shock absorber 7 and braced by a member 9 connected to the top of the leg by a shaft 11, the main retraction pivots 16 and 17 being formed on the leg 5 and member 9 respectively. Adjacent the pivot 16 the leg 5 carries an arm which has a pivotal connection 22 with a retraction jack (not shown) the undercarriage being braced in the lowered position by a collapsible back-stay and locking mechanism 15. The undercarriage may comprise a single unit.
