Abstract

1,180,347. Supporting false twist tubes. ATELIERS ROANNAIS DE CONSTRUCTIONS TEXTILES. 9 May, 1968 [9 May, 1967; 24 Jan., 1968], No. 22093/68. Heading D1D. A false twist tube is magnetically urged outwardly against the inner bearing surfaces of two bearing rings 4, 8 carried by an annular body member 1 by two magnetic pole pieces 10, 11 arranged immediately adjacent the tube. The pole pieces may be located axially outwardly of the bearing rings (as in Figure 1) or axially inwardly of the rings (Fig. 2, not shown). The annular body may consist of a pair of cups 47, 48 which are mounted for rotation together, each cup carrying a bearing ring 50, 52 adjacent its rim such that a false twist tube 54, or several tubes, are positioned between the cups with the pole pieces 64 extending into the space between the rims. The pole pieces are preferably those of a titaniumcobalt-aluminium-alloy permanent magnet.
