Abstract

994,043. Twist-tubes. ATELIERS ROANNAIS DE CONSTRUCTIONS TEXTILES. May 27, 1963 [April 26, 1963], No. 21131/63. Heading D1D. A false twist spindle assembly comprises a false twist spindle 6 (Fig. 1) formed of magnetizable material, attracted by the poles of a magnet 3 against the rims of two parallel discs 4, 5 mounted on a rotatable shaft 1 between the poles of the magnet. The shaft may be rotated by a belt 7. The arms of the magnet are tapered (Fig. 2 not shown). In Fig. 3 two magnets 14, 15 combine to form an inner north pole which attracts disc 16 which has a concave rim. The spindle 6 (or 10) may rotate at between 300, 000 and 600, 000 revolutions per minute.
