Abstract

1,001,230. Twist-tubes. ELITEX SDRUZENI PODNIKU TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI. Dec. 19, 1963 [Dec. 21, 1962], No. 50116/63. Heading D1D. A false-twisting device (for use in crimping yarn) comprises two floating, rotating spindles held on two pairs of (driving) discs by two magnets which effectively occupy the space between the discs and the longitudinal axes of which are parallel or coincident with the connecting line between the axes of rotation of the discs. As shown, hollow spindles 8 and 9 are rotated by frictional engagement with the rims of pairs of driving and contact discs 6 and 7 and held in position by adjustably mounted magnets 10 and 11. Arcuate portions 20, 21, of noses 18 and 19 of pole pieces 16 and 17 accommodate spindle collars 24 and 25. Each magnet may have a circular opening 30 or an oblong slot 31 fitting over the disc hub.
