Abstract

1298127 Moving coil electric meters COMPAGNIE DES COMPTEURS 15 June 1970 [13 June 1969] 28888/70 Heading G1Q A moving coil meter of the long-scale type comprises an annular permanent magnet 2, a first pole piece 3 constituted by two substantially identical halves assembled together to form outer and inner annuli 21A, B and 20A, B spaced by an annular slot 22, a second pole piece 4 having a portion axially facing the inner annulus of the first pole piece, and a rotatable coil 13 encircling the inner annulus 20A, B so as to move through the annular slot 22. An adjustable triangular magnetic block 28 shunts the pole pieces 3, 4. The magnet 2 and pole pieces 3, 4 are held in assembled relationship by flanges 35, 7 on a body member 6. Bearings 10, 11 for the spindle 9 carrying the coil 13 are mounted on an extension 12 of body member 6 and on pole piece 4 respectively, the upper bearing 10 being provided with a regulating lever 15. Alternatively the coil may be torsionally suspended.
