Abstract

527,970. Hollow rollers. NYBORG, T. G., and MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. March 18, 1939, No. 8714. [Class 34 (i) ] A roller, e.g., for conveyer belts with ball or roller bearings 3 surrounding a central spindle 4 and mounted in end rings 2 of the roller has an annular cylinder 7 extending inwardly from each end ring and rotating therewith formed with a re-entrant annular flange 9 adjacent the spindle 4 and terminating short of the bearing to form an oil receptacle so that both bearings are flooded if the roller is tilted. The bearings are fixed in the end rings 2, which are fixed to an outer shell 1 and carry outer oil seals 16 with washers and spring rings 19. The cylinder 7 may be made in one with the end ring or in separate parts.
