Abstract

1,135,880. Bearings. DURKOPPWERKE, G.m.b.H. 6 April, 1967 [7 April, 1966], No. 15863/67. Heading F2A. In a taper roller bearing the rollers are held in an outer race by a packing 4 and by a temporary mounting socket member 9 in lieu of an inner race. The socket member 9 is of synthetic material. Slots 11 in member 9 facilitate its displacement from the rollers by a journal, on installation of the bearing. Lip 10 prevents displacement of member 9 in one axial direction. The packing 4 comprises rubber rings 6 and metal mounting 5 separated from the rollers by a felt ring 12 saturated with oil, and retained by spring ring 7.
