Abstract

1,169,941. Dobbies. RICHARDSON, TUER & CO. Ltd. and K. J. FAY. 27 Feb., 1967 [21 March, 1966], No. 12273/66. Heading DIE. A positive double lift open shed dobby consists of operating members 12, each coupled by a connecting rod 13 to a heald frame. Each end of an operating member carries a pin 24, which can be engaged in a hole 25 in an actuator 22, whereby the operating member can be turned through 180‹ about a shaft 10. The actuating members 22 move bodily in a semi-circle while remaining horizontal; both move to the top of their travel to form the shed for one pick and to the bottom for the next pick. The two pins 24 on the operating members and the holes 25 in the actuators are at different distances from the shaft 10 so that each pin can engage only one hole. Each pin 24 is carried by a flap 23 which rocks about an axis 23A under the control of a pattern 34. Pusher needles 28 rock a cam 26 about its pivot 26A, causing a cam groove in its periphery 27 to rock the flap by acting on a follower 26B.
