Abstract

806,371. Loom shedding-motions. BUTTERWORTH & DICKSON, Ltd., and BUTTERWORTH, F. April 21, 1955 [March 1, 1954], No. 5931/54. Class 142(2) Two heald frames are given equal and opposite movement by a single cam 5, on a shaft 1, by two identical linkages. One frame is raised when the other is lowered. The cam moves a follower 7 on one end of a bell-crank lever 9, 11 connected by links 15, 17 and members 27, 31 to one end of one frame and by links 19, 23, 47, 41 and members 43, 51 to the other end of the same frame. The second frame is moved by a bell-crank lever 35, 37 connected by a link 33 to the follower 7 and by a link 39, a member lying behind the link 41, links 45, 25, 21, and a member lying behind the link 17. Members corresponding to members 27, 31 and 43, 51 connect the second linkage to the second frame. Adjustment is provided by slots 13 in the bellcrank levers and by screwed connections 29. The frames are held in an inclined position, when viewed from the side of the loom, by spring-loaded guides mounted on the loom sides.
