Abstract

To provide for differing beat-up positions for fast and loose picks an upper portion (14) of each sley sword (10) is pivoted to and movable with respect to a lower portion (15). The portions (14), (15) are pivoted at (18) and are joined together by toggle links (45), (46) whose knee (47) has a follower (30) running in a cam track (19) that is adjustably pivoted to the loom frame. The track (19) is movable about its pivot to alter the run of the follower (30) and, thus, the relative inclination of the links (45), (46) to vary the position of the reed (13) for the fast and loose picks.
