Abstract

The warp threads (2a) are shed to the level of the top of the rearwardly moving seed (3) and are maintained at that level during the reed's movement through rear centre and for part of its beating-up stroke. Shed change takes place during the latter portion of the beat-up movement. Shedding is effected by a cam (13) which produces a heald frame movement in accordance with Figure 3 (not shown). The lower sheet (2b) of warp threads may be shed to the level of the race during the reed's movement.
