Coupled shedding levers 4a, 4b are connected by links 10, 9 to adjacent pivoted levers 7 which may be selectively coupled to adjacent oppositely oscillating frames 11a, 11b, at the mid point of their oscillation, to provide double lift, centre-closed shedding. The frames 11a, 11b are pivoted about the pivot shaft 3 of the levers 7 and are driven in opposite directions by a lever and link mechanism by a continuously rotating cam (Figure 3, not shown). Each frame has arms 22a, 22b (Fig. 4) with apertures 23 which, at centre stroke, are aligned with apertures 25a, 25b at the end of the levers 7. Movable in the apertures 23 are selectors 24 which oscillate with the frames 11a, 11b and have rollers cooperating with vertically movable tracks 26. The tracks 26 are arranged in pairs, each pair have rack teeth which cooperate with a pinion 29 which is operated from a pattern mechanism so that one selector 24 of each pair is raised and one lowered. The raised selector 24 enters the corresponding aperture 25 of a lever 7 to couple it to the oscillating frame 11 at the mid point of the frames stroke.
