Abstract

1,169,089. Straightening. MASCHINENUND BOHRGERATE - FABRIK ALFRED WIRTH & CO. K.G. 15 June, 1967 [22 June, 1966], No. 27691/67. Heading B3E. A roller straightening machine has cantilevered straightening axles, each of which carries a straightening roller at its free end, the rollers being in two parallel rows, with the rollers of one row staggered relative to the rollers of the other row and is characterized in that all the straightening axles, with their rollers are angularly adjustable in common. The straightening line comprises a heavy duty straightener 1 in which the straightening roller axes are horizontal, and which can be withdrawn from the line along transverse rails 5 and which is followed by a light duty straightener 6, which is also removable from the line along rails 13. The straightener 6 has eight staggered straightening rollers 7 which are mounted in a unit which is rotatable about pivot pins 8 in side frames 9. The rotation is effected by an hydraulic unit 11 and the frame is locked, with the axes of the rollers either horizontal or vertical, by bolts 12.
