Abstract

1314852 Rolling I PROPERZI 27 May 1970 [27 May 1969] 25517/70 Heading B3M A multistand rolling mill has, at its outlet end, at least one stand 3 having parallel grooved rolls 8, 9 for forming opposed surfaces of a bar, two parallel grooved guiding and rolling rollers 19 whose axes are normal to the axes of the rolls and a guide 34 between the rolls and rollers. The separation between rolls 8 and 9 is altered by adjustable wedges (14), Fig. 3 (not shown), and that between the rolls 19 by means of a screw. The rolls 19 are mounted in a removable housing 20 slidable in the frame 7 of the roll stand 3. The rolls 8 and 9 may be replaced as may rolls 19 for rolling rod or wire of different sections. The stands 3 is mounted on a mill frame by means of a dovetail 6 and is laterally adjustable by means of a screw. A guide 35 is provided on the side of the stand opposite rollers 19, which may be on the inlet or outlet side of stand 3.
