Abstract

1,158,796. Cartons. J. A. BLEACH (Riegel Paper Corp.). 21 Sept., 1967, No. 42979/67. Heading B8P. A carton comprises a tray portion having a plurality of normally flat planar walls 61, 62 and bulge panels 81 joined along substantially arcuate score lines to the side walls to urge the side walls out of their normally flat planes to impart an outwardly bulging curvature thereto and cover means 52 for maintaining the bulge panels in the side wall bulging positions. As shown the cover is provided with a window closed off by a transparent material. The cover is provided with locking tabs 54 which co-operate with locking slits 82 in the tray portion. In a modification the tray and cover are formed from a single blank. One side wall of the tray may be formed with lines of weakness to provide a tear opening tongue.
