Abstract
1,106,056. Cartons. AMERICAN CAN CO. 12 March, 1965, No. 10698/65. Heading B8P. A tamperproof reclosable carton made from a one-piece blank comprises a lid which telescopes over the upper part of the receptacle portion, Fig. 7, and a panel comprising two parts 57a, 57b separated by a tear line 61 and which lies between the front wall 43 of the receptacle and the adjacent skirt 51 of the lid, Fig. 6A (not shown). After unsealing by lifting the lid upwardly to tear along the line 61 the two parts 57a, 57b act as latching members when reclosing Fig. 7a (not shown). The sides may also have tear lines as shown in Fig. 7 or the sides of the lid may be frictionally engaged between overlapping end panels (138, 139), Figs. 9-14 (not shown). In a further modification, Fig. 22 (not shown) the tear line is a cut score through half the thickness of the flap 57, so that a half thickness portion of the flap tears away to form the member 57a. The cover portion may be hinged so that only part thereof, e.g. a corner portion opens.
