Abstract

1,157,437. Composite filaments. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 29 Nov., 1966 [3 Dec., 1965], No. 51434/65. Heading B5B. [Also in Division D1] Composite filaments containing poly(hexamethylene adipamide) and a copolymer of poly- (hexamethylene adipamide) and poly(epsilon caprolactam) are extruded through a 34-hole spinneret so that the polymers are in side by side configuration. After spinning they are bundled around an idle roll and passed through an aspirator jet to quench, molecularly orientate and crimp the filaments. The filaments are formed into a web and steamed, see Division D1.
