1,145,527. Conjugate filaments. KANEGAFUCHI BOSEKI, K.K., and SNIA VISCOSA SOCIETA NAZIONALE INDUSTRIA APPLICAZIONI VISCOSA S.p.A. 28 Nov., 1966 [1 Dec., 1965], No. 53122/66. Heading B5B. A highly shrinkable non-crimpable concentric sheath/core conjugated filament consists of a core of copolyamide and a sheath of homopolyamide. The homopolymer may be nylon-6, 66, 610, 7, 11, or 12, polymetaxylylene adipamide, or polyparaxylylene adipamide. Copolymerforming materials specified are monomers for the above, hexamethylene diammonium terephthalate, and hexamethylene diammonium isophthalate. The thickness of the sheath is 1-15% of the filament diameter. The ratio of sheath component to core component is 1: 24 to 51: 49.
