Abstract

115,673. Cochrane, W. May 14, 1917. Valves; valve-gear.-A two-stroke-cycle engine with radial cylinders revolving in a casing 35 has a number of rows of small ports 18 which are uncovered by the piston at about half outstroke, allowing part of the exhaust gases to escape before a ring valve 4 is moved to uncover exhaust ports in the cylinder head. Rich carburetted air is admitted through an oscillating disk valve 25. The valves are worked by grooved came 10, 27 respectively.
