Abstract

1,155,662. Spray-producers. PEROLIN CO. Inc. 6 Dec., 1966 [16 Dec., 1965], No. 54548/66. Heading B2F. A spray producer suitable for cleaning tanks &c. comprises an elongated tube 10 having a central ring (11), Fig. 1 (not shown) for horizontal suspension and a ring 14 adjacent one end for vertical suspension, and fluid feed means 18 within the tube adapted to supply compressed air and liquid cleaning agent through separate conduits to a pair of spray heads 24, an axially disposed nozzle 25 and a plurality of generally radially extending nozzles (25<SP>1</SP>), Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) being mounted on each spray head. The nozzles (25<SP>1</SP>) are tilted slightly towards the adjacent end of the tube and are aligned with elongated radial apertures 29 in the tube. The fluid supply lines (33), (33<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 1, extend alongside the suspension cable (13) attached to the ring (11) and supply the liquid and gas to the spray heads via angular couplings (32), (32<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 4, T-couplings 21, 21<SP>1</SP>, and conduits 20, 20<SP>1</SP>. The spray producer while suspended.by the. ring (11) swings and rotates with any motion imparted to the cable 13, e.g. by a. vessel rolling at sea. The tube protects the nozzles, which may be selected according to the viscosity &c. of the liquid, from 'damage and may be raised so as to spray the tank at selected elevations. A cable (15), Fig. 1, attached to the ring 14 enables the tube to be tilted and removed through a restricted opening, after spraying, or the cable may be held under slight tension during spraying so as to rotate or orientate the tube.
