1,112,936. Spray-producers. C. P. EQUIPMENT Ltd. 17 Oct., 1966 [27 Oct., 1965], No. 45486/65. Heading B2F. A spray producer suitable for cleaning tanks comprises a jet nozzle unit 12 adapted to be rotated about a horizontal axis and including a plurality of nozzles 29 extending radially from a tubular hub 27, a tubular carrier 11 for the unit 12 adapted to be rotated about a vertical axis by water pressure acting on a turbine 16, and a plug 31 rotatably mounted in a radial bore in the carrier 11 coaxially with respect to an end plate 28 in the hub 27 by a central stem 32 so as to balance the thrust of the water tending to move the plate 28 and the unit 12 axially. A bevel gear 35 mounted on the carrier by a ring 14 meshes with a bevel gear 37 mounted on the outer end of the plug 31 in order to rotate the unit 12. The gears 35, 37 have different numbers of teeth. The turbine drives the carrier through a speed reduction gear 21 having two reduction stages 38, 39.
