Abstract
1,157,949. Spray producers. ROCHLING 'SCHE EISEN-und STAHLWERKE G.m.b.H. 21 March, 1968 [3 April, 1967], No. 13820/68. Heading B2F. Atomisers comprise a structure supporting air and liquid supply means and an annular nozzle mounted on the structure, the nozzle comprising a pair of inner lips 3 defining between them an annular liquid chamber 4 with an annular fissure communicating with the liquid supply means A and a pair of outer lips 8 defining with respect to the adjacent inner lips, a pair of air chambers 5 with annular fissures communicating with the air supply means B, the fissures being adjustable. The inner lips may be mounted on threaded flanges screwed on to the supporting structure, and the outer lips may be mounted on threaded flanges screwed on to outer threads on the flanges carrying the inner lips. The atomisers may be arranged to spray outwardly or inwardly, and may have more than one nozzle. The conical jet produced may be stabilised by air over-pressure within. The apparatus is suitable for cooling wire during reeling by spraying with water.
