Abstract
989,676. Spray-producers. R. HAMMELMANN. Nov. 28, 1963 [Dec. 3, 1962], No. 47111/63. Heading B2F. A spray head suitable for cleaning pipes comprises a body portion 1 provided with a threaded central hole 2 and having a plurality of tapered grooves 7 distributed about its periphery and a housing 4 which surrounds the portion 1 and is loaded by plate springs 10 so as to move relative to the portion 1 and provide outlet orifices formed between the lower edge of the housing and the grooves 7 when pressure fluid is applied to the bore 2, the size of the orifices varying according to the applied pressure. The springs 10 are arranged on a tube 9 between a collar 11 and a threepart ring 12 let into the housing 4. Some fluid passes through the tube 9 and through an orifice 13 in a cap 5 and the rest passes through radial passages 6 to the grooves 7 which may be of triangular cross-section. A set screw 14 prevents the portion 1 rotating. The cap 5 may be screwed into the bore 2 and the pressure on the springs 10 may be adjusted.
