Abstract

1332400 Air guns SCOVILL MFG CO 20 Oct 1971 [22 Oct 1970] 48663/71 Heading F3C A safety nozzle 20, for an air gun 12, has a tubular body portion 22 and a head portion 26 which has a diameter exceeding the diameter of the body portion 22. A centrally disposed passage 28 extends longitudinally through the nozzle 20 and a number of bores 30 are formed parallel to and angularly-spaced around the passage 28. Each bore 30 has a full circumference when in the head portion 26, has a part circumference when in the body portion 22 and terminated at a bevelled surface 36 formed in the body portion 22. The body portion is screw. threaded at 24 for attachment to the gun 12. The head portion 26 has a tubular sleeve, 38 press-fitted theron, the latter being provided with radial openings 40 and having a diametrically-disposed pin 42 secured therein. In use the bores 30 and the openings 40 perform an aspiration function when necessary and the pin 42 breaks up the direct shot of air and diffuses it.
