Abstract

The instrument enables fluid to be injected into the trunk of a tree and has a body provided with a gimlet thread (1) and point at one end. This is bored into the trunk, being turned using arms (2) on the body. A passage (4) runs axially down the centre of the body, terminating at the gimlet point. Along the length of the gimlet thread are openings (5) into the passage, these being circular or oval and irregularly spaced, to dispense the fluid. The passage has a screwed inlet (3) on the external body. This is attached to a container or hose for the fluid.
