1,149,673. Carrier bags. U. J. CHRISTENSEN [trading as ROLLES FABRIKER V/FRU U. J. CHRISTENSEN]. 21 April, 1967 [23 April, 1966], No. 18354/67. Heading A4G. A bag is formed from thin plastics web folded to form a continuous bottom pleat 10 and side walls 2, 3, continuous webs of thicker plastics ribbon 6, 7 being fed inside or outside the mouth edges and being welded or stuck to the edges to form reinforcements, after which the bag edges and ribbon ends are transversely cut and sealed by a hot knife and hand-holes 8, 9 formed. If the ribbons are stuck on, apertures 13, 14 are formed in the walls to allow the ribbon adhesive to hold the bag closed and the bag edges are treated with a high frequency and voltage arc to ensure adhesion.
