Abstract

1,018,352. Bag closures. FLEXIGRIP Ltd. Oct. 11, 1962 [March 2, 1962], No. 38572/62. Heading B8K. [Also in Division E2] A method of making a flexible plastics or rubber container comprises extruding a tube 22 of flexible plastics or rubber material with a pair of integral interlocking elements 23, 24 extending longitudinally along the tube axis, cutting the tube longitudinally between the pair of elements, bringing a pair of elements adjacent one another so as to be capable of interlocking engagement and sealing the edges of the container thereby formed. In a modification, the interlocking elements are formed on the inside and the outside of the tube, respectively. Alternatively, two pairs of elements may be provided along opposed sides of the tube (see Fig. 3, not shown) and by severing the material along lines 47, 48 two strips of material are provided for forming two containers.
