Abstract

1,016,476. Vented plastics bags. SICEDISON S.p.A. June 20, 1963 [June 20, 1962], No. 24660/63. Heading B8K. Air can escape from a flat plastics bag 1 through a gap 6 communicating with the interior of the bag through a narrow channel 7 defined by a transverse weld 3 adjacent the bottom edge 5 of the bag. A sleeve 2 projecting from within the bag keeps the inner surfaces of the top edge clean to facilitate their welding after the projecting end of the sleeve 2 has been pushed inside the bag. The sleeve 2 may be welded near the open top end of the bag or, as illustrated, may be included in the weld 3 defining the venting channel 7. A gap 4 in this weld communicates with the interior of the bag.
