Abstract

1,230,352. Package with tear strip. KARTRIDG PAK CO. 5 Feb., 1969 [20 May, 1968], No. 6139/69. Heading B8C. A package 10 comprises a tubular container formed by sealing together longitudinal overlapping marginal-portions 12 and 14 of a plastics web material 11 and a tear strip 15 is longitudinally interposed between the overlapping margins 12 and 14. A longitudinal margin of the tear strip extends beyond the outer edge of the web 11 so that the strip can be pulled along or across the longitudinal seal to open the package. The tear strip 15, which may be laminated, is electronically heat-sealed to both margins 12, 14, and is slit at 21 and 22 to present a strip-portion 23 to be grasped while tearing open the package. The ends of the package are closed by clips. The tube is formed continuously by a hollow mandrel through which the product also is fed into the tube
