Abstract

1357359 Carrier bags ROLLES FABRIKER A/S 29 Nov 1971 55363/71 Heading G A plastic bag 12, Fig. 2 having mouth edge reinforcing strips 6, 7 with hand holes 13, has a profiled stiffening strip 8a adhered to the bag wall parallel to the rectilinear mouth edge, the overall thickness of the profiled strip being greater than the thickness of the material, e.g. plastics or cardboard, forming the strip. During manufacture, web 1, Fig. 3 is longitudinally folded to bring edges 2, 3 together, webs 6, 7 are advanced with the edges, adhered to the edges and handles 13 formed therein; at the same time a further strip 8 is advanced, adhered to wall 5 and passed through rollers which give the strip and wall the required profiled section 8a, after which the web is transversely welded at 9, 10 and separated at 11 into bags 12.
