[Also in Division B3] In a machine for bundling wire coils 7 at two diametrically opposed points simultaneously, two binding wires are fed by rollers (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), into guides 9, the wires are severed by means (11), (not further described), and the guides 9, lifted by means 12, (not further decribed), until they are each positioned opposite one of a pair of binding pliers 1, arranged at points diametrically opposed relative to the coil, each of which pliers comprises a pair of arms 6 carrying grippers 8; the pliers, with arms open, are driven forward so that the arms extend each side of the coil, and the grippers grasp the ends of the binding wires, so that on withdrawal of the pliers, the wires are pulled round the coil. The arms are then closed, the ends of each pair of arms crossing one another, and are revolved to twist the wire ends together. The guides 9 are then lowered. Again, Fig. 4 (not shown), two reels (16) of wire are mounted on a rotatable carrier (15), the wires being twisted together to form the binding wire which is fed through two guides (17), each comprising two spring-loaded semi-cylinders and positioned at diametrically opposed points relative to the coil; the arms (6) of the two pairs of pliers carry grippers (19), (20), a cutting blade (21) being mounted on (19) so that, on the arms being thrust either side of the coil, the wire is cut into the required length before being fully gripped.
